Number One Albums 1984 - US vs UK

In 1984, there were but five Number One Albums on the Billboard chart here in the US; still a record low nearly thirty-two years later. Over in the UK, there were eighteen different Number One Albums for the year. Like everyone else I knew, I had all five of the US hits at the time - only Michael Jackson's Thriller also topped the UK chart - back then I had eleven of the UK chart-topping albums in my vinyl collection, some of which are still on The Vinyl Wall today. How many of these big sellers did/do you have? When was the last time you listened to one of them?

  1. Like you, I had all five of the number 1 US albums - four on vinyl, one on cassette. All five were monster successes with many hit singles. They each remain some of my favorites of the 80's decade even today.
